Luke Burghardt (1, 2) started his North Bay Battalion career off with a bang, leading the Troops to a 5-2 win over the visiting Barrie Colts in their home opener. Fellow ex-Guelph Storm teammate Luke Moncada (1) opened the scoring for North Bay while Daniel Walker (1) and Kyle Potts (1) also found the back of the net. Julian Sime made 22 saves for North Bay in the win while 19-year-old winger Justin Brazeau had a pair of assists. Barrie falls short one night after defeating the Ottawa 67’s 11-2 in their home opener on Thursday. Jaden Peca (1) and Kade Landry (1) provided goals while Christian Propp made 25 saves in the loss.
