Graeme Clarke’s (1) first career OHL goal stood as the game winner, but Austen Keating’s (1, 2, 3) third career hat-trick headlined the Ottawa 67’s 50th home opener as they defeated the Erie Otters 6-4. Keating’s output included a shorthanded marker along with two power play goals as part of a 3-for-4 effort from the Ottawa man advantage. The two clubs entered the second period tied at three before goals from Keating and Clarke put Ottawa over the top. Sasha Chmelevski (2) and Tye Felhaber (2) also scored Ottawa goals while Mathieu Foget had a pair of assists. Erie goals came from Carson Edwardson (1), Kyle Maksimovich (1), Gera Poddubnyi (1) and Jordan Sambrook (1) while Taylor Raddysh recorded a pair of assists. The Otters wrap up a three-game East Division road trip with a 1-1-1-0 record. The Ottawa win snaps a string of nine straight losses against Erie dating back to Sept. 2012.
