67’s and Generals receive OHL honours

The Ontario Hockey League proudly introduced a pair of awards and the inaugural recipients at the commencement of the league’s annual meetings on Thursday.

The Ottawa 67’s were presented with the Community Involvement Award, while the Oshawa Generals received the Franchise Development Award.

Awards were presented by OHL Vice-President, Development, Joe Birch, and Director of Marketing, Kyle Ferguson, to staff members from both organizations in attendance.

The 67’s were recognized as league leaders in social media and the digital landscape helping them deeply engage their community and fan base during the club’s record regular season and exciting playoff run.  They contributed over $38,000 to minor hockey sponsorships, youth groups, and charities, while volunteering over 1,100 hours in the community including noteworthy support of the West Carleton Disaster Relief just days after winning the Eastern Conference crown.

Off-ice highlights from the Generals award winning 2018-19 campaign includes leading the league in group ticket sales, being among the league’s leaders in total ticketing, sponsorship sales, and attendance based on percentage of building capacity.

Congratulations to the 67’s and Generals for your hard work and commitment to excellence in 2018-19.
