The Battle of the Ottawa River continues Sunday afternoon on Sportsnet as the Gatineau Olympiques (7-19-3-0) visit the nation’s capital to take on the Ottawa 67’s (21-6-0-0) at 2:00pm ET.
Winners of eight in a row, the 67’s look to build off a 4-0 shutout win over Gatineau at the Robert Guertin Centre on Friday as Cedrick Andree stopped all 32 shots that came his way.
Draft eligible 67’s forward Marco Rossi is the reigning OHL ‘On the Run’ Player of the Week and is riding a current 10-game point streak. The 5-foot-9 centre has 50 points (16-34–50) over 22 games this season and is joined atop Ottawa’s scoring leaders by overage winger Austen Keating (14-30–44) and veteran blueliner Noel Hoefenmayer (11-25–36).
Across the ice, the Olympiques are looking to snap out of an eight-game funk. Overage forward and third-year veteran Charles-Antoine Roy leads Gatineau offensively with 26 points (14-12–26) over 27 games while 16-year-old forward Zachary Dean (5-7–12) is one to watch for the future after he was the fourth overall pick of the 2019 QMJHL Draft last spring.
The 67’s will play for their second Alexandra Cup, having claimed it last season in its inaugural year. Ottawa has won three of the five meetings between the two sides since they rekindled their rivalry beginning with an outdoor game at TD Place Stadium in December 2017.
Catch Sunday’s action across the country on Sportsnet when the puck drops at 2:00pm ET.
