Tye Felhaber‘s 56th goal of the season on Sunday was also his 100th point as the Eastern Conference regular season champion Ottawa 67’s blanked the visiting Mississauga Steelheads 3-0.
The league’s leading goal scorer, Felhaber teamed up with linemate Marco Rossi to join Morgan Frost, Jason Robertson and Kevin Hancock as the OHL’s fourth 100-point scorer of the 2018-19 season.
“It’s nice, it’s finally all coming together,” Felhaber told the media following the win. “With the whole team here that we have, it’s hard not to have success for yourself. It feels good. It’s something I’ve been working my whole life for and my family has sacrificed a lot of time for me to accomplish this and I’m just trying to soak it all in.”
Fresh off signing with the Dallas Stars as an undrafted free agent, Felhaber gives the 67’s a triple digit point producer for the first time since Tyler Toffoli‘s second of back-to-back 100-point seasons in 2011-12.
A 20-year-old native of Pembroke, Ont., Felhaber was originally a first round (10th overall) pick of the Saginaw Spirit in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection. The right-winger has amassed 276 (142-134–276) career regular season points over 305 games between Ottawa and Saginaw.
