With a goal on Saturday in St. Catharines, Los Angeles Kings prospect Mike Amadio became the top single-season marksman in North Bay Battalion franchise history.
Amadio was one of the lone bright spots in a 9-2 loss to the Niagara IceDogs, burying his 48th goal of the season to surpass Wojtek Wolski’s existing franchise mark of 47 set during the 2005-06 season.
Amadio’s season has featured a pair of hat-tricks, including a franchise record five-goal performance on February 13th against the Kingston Frontenacs. He recorded a season-high six points (2-4–6) on November 15th in a 7-3 win over the Barrie Colts.
The 19-year-old fourth-year veteran sits at 94 points (48-46–94) with three games remaining in the regular season, six points shy of 100 in his bid to become the second player in franchise history to reach triple digits.
The Sault Ste. Marie, ON, native currently sits fifth in Battalion all-time scoring, one point behind Raffi Torres (1998-2001) with 90 goals, 132 assists and 222 regular season points in 260 career contests.
Amadio was Los Angeles’ third round (90th overall) pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.
