Battalion winger Denault commits to Nipissing for 2020-21

North Bay Battalion winger Chad Denault has committed to the nearby Nipissing University Lakers for the upcoming 2020-21 campaign as one of their first men’s hockey recruits of the offseason.

The fourth-year OHL skater put up an even four goals and four assists for eight points over his final 35 games as a member of the Battalion and amassed 31 points (15-16—31) over a total of 187 OHL games between the Troops and the Peterborough Petes. The 2000-born native of Iroquois Falls was a third round pick of the Petes in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection and was sent to North Bay this past December to finish out his fourth year with the Troops.

The 6-foot-2 winger will add size and skill to a Lakers team that will be looking for their first ever Queen’s Cup championship since joining the OUA circuit in 2009.
