Byfield, Wisdom featured on Soul on Ice Podcast

A pair of talented OHL forwards were recent guests on the Soul on Ice Podcast with hosts Akil Thomas and Elijah Roberts.

Sudbury Wolves centre Quinton Byfield, the second overall pick of the 2020 NHL Draft, joined the show to discuss his experience being chosen by the Los Angeles Kings, likening it to ‘being in a movie.’ Byfield went on to describe the thrill of being congratulated by the likes of Magic Johnson and Snoop Dogg, along with his childhood hero Martin St. Louis. He also touched on his love of bowties, and a few of his favourite video games.

Kingston Frontenacs winger Zayde Wisdom, who was a fourth round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers and recipient of the 2020 E.J. McGuire Award of Excellence, shared his own draft day experience with Thomas and Roberts. The Scarborough, Ont. native joins a Flyers organization that recently hired a fellow Scarborough product and OHL grad in Chris Stewart, who will serve in a player development role.
