Caleb Van De Ven commits to Greyhounds

Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Rafits announced another signing to the Program earlier today.

Today, 2020 13th Round Selection in the OHL Priority Selection, Caleb Van De Ven signed a standard player agreement and education package with the club.

“Caleb is a smooth skating defensemen who had a great training camp following a big year with Powasson. We’re excited to have him work with our staff to continue to grow in all areas of his game, and take the next step in his development,” said Raftis.

Van De Ven, a 6.02, 171lb defenceman from Delaware, ON played last season with the Powassan VooDoos of the NOJHL. In 42 regular season games played Caleb recorded 9 goals and 23 assists (32 points).

“It’s an honour to play for such a well respected organization and it’s something I’ve been working towards for a long time. I look forward to working with the amazing staff and players here in Sault Ste. Marie to showcase a great season for the amazing fans and community we have here,” explained Van De Ven.
