First round pick Anthony Cristoforo commits to Spitfires

WINDSOR, ON – The Windsor Spitfires announced today that 2022 first round selection Anthony Cristoforo has signed an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement with the Hockey Club and is set to suit up for the Red, White and Navy in the 2022-23 season.

Cristoforo is a 5-foot-11, 175lb. defenceman from Woodbridge, Ontario.

With the 22nd overall selection in the 2022 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, the Windsor Spitfires claimed the rights to a skilled defenceman in the 2006 born draft class.

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens player had a fantastic 2021-22 season. Cristoforo collected 78 points including 15 goals and 63 assists in 65 games.

“I am very excited, words can’t describe how happy I am.” Cristoforo said. “I am honoured and can’t wait to start the year.”

“Anthony is reliable, consistent player with a high hockey IQ,” said GM Bill Bowler. “His competitiveness and leadership qualities is why today’s signing is so promising for our organization.”
