Frontenacs’ Burns added to Team Red roster for Under-17 Capital City Challenge

Hockey Canada has added Kingston Frontenacs rookie blueliner Quinton Burns to its roster for the upcoming Under-17 Capital City Challenge set to begin Friday, November 26th in Ottawa.

Burns replaces injured defenceman Austin Zemlak of the WHL’s Victoria Royals, joining Team Red. Burns is one of three Frontenacs players competing in the event, joining forward Matthew Soto of Team White and goaltender Mason Vaccari of Team Black.

A 6-foot-2, 170Ib. native of Smiths Falls, Ont., Burns has recorded one assist through 16 games with the Frontenacs this season. He was Kingston’s second round (35th overall) pick in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.

Burns is one of 25 OHL players competing at the inaugural event.
