Goaltender Jacob Oster commits to Storm

Guelph Storm

Guelph, ON – Guelph Storm General Manager & Head Coach George Burnett announced that the team has received a commitment from goaltender Jacob Oster.

“Jacob was among the top goalies in his age group when we selected him in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection,” said Burnett. “Despite the challenges that all players have endured during the past 18 months, Jacob has continued to progress and has positioned himself to challenge for a role with the Storm. Jacob has excellent size, skating, is very athletic and has improved each day throughout camp.”

The 2004-born Ottawa native was selected by the Storm in the 5th round, 92nd overall in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. In 2019-20, Oster registered 15 wins, six losses and a shutout with the U18 Kemptville 73’s AAA team. He ended the season with a 2.65 GAA and 0.909 save percentage. During the 2020-21 exhibition season with Kemptville, the 6’3, 187 lbs goaltender put up a 3-0-0 record with one shutout, registering a 0.66 GAA and a 0.974 save percentage.

“I am super excited and honoured to sign with such an amazing organization,” said Oster. “I’d like to thank all my coaches, teammates and especially my parents for helping me along the way.”
