Hughston Hurt commits to Sting

Sarnia Sting

Sarnia, ON. – Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca announced this morning that the hockey club has signed 6’0, 160-pound left-shot defenceman Hughston Hurt to an Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Standard Player Agreement.

The Oakland Township, Michigan native was selected by the club in the fourth round, 69th overall, of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. This past season, Hurt tallied 3 goals and 25 assists in 81 games played for a very successful Detroit Little Caesars 15U AAA team. The club finished the season with a 71-7-2 record, ranked first overall amongst 115 teams in the United States, and captured a state championship.

On the signing of Hurt, Seca comments:

“Hughston is a player our scouting staff worked diligently on this winter. He is a two-way defender with good mobility. He’s a competitive player who doesn’t shy away from the physical game and we love both his upside and character. We would like to welcome Hughston and the Hurt family to Sarnia.”
