IceDogs’ Castleman commits to Carleton

The Carleton Ravens announced Monday that Niagara IceDogs overage graduate Oliver Castleman has committed to the men’s hockey program.

Castleman, 20, comes off a 58-point season where he scored a career-high 22 goals and tacked on 36 assists over 62 games. The Gloucester, Ont. product played four seasons in Niagara, recording at least 40 points three times for a career total of 165 points (73-92–165) over 254 regular season games. He appeared in 25 career playoff contests, recording 13 points (3-10–13).

Castleman was originally Niagara’s fourth round pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection after being passed over in 2015. The extra year of seasoning benefitted the 6-foot, 186Ib. left-winger who now joins other OHL graduates in Josh Burnside, Andrew Burns, Cody Caron, Cole Carter, Evan de Haan, C.J. Garcia, Jared Steege and Justin Nichols in the Ravens program.
