In The Game: Danny Katic (Saginaw Spirit)

From the far reaches of South Porcupine, Ont., 6-foot-4, 215Ib. left-winger Danny Katic will be proudly representing his Saginaw Spirit in the Memorial eCup presented by Kia.

Entering his fourth full OHL seasonĀ and in the running to fill one of the Spirit’s overage lineup spots, Katic has been around the League and knows the ins and outs of what it takes to win. It will be interesting to see if the years of finishing checks, blocking shots and racking up the miles on the Spirit bus can translate into NHL 21 success for Katic, who had 13 goals last season as the Spirit won their second consecutive West Division title.

Fast Fact:
Katic is the cousin of former second overall 2005 OHL Priority Selection choice Mark Katic who went on to play four seasons on the blue line for the Sarnia Sting from 2005-09. A third round pick of the New York Islanders in 2007, the elder KaticĀ is set to embark on his 12th pro season, suiting up for Adler Mannheim in the German Elite League.
