Knights team up for branded masks

As mask regulations continue to come into effect across the province to help combat the spread of COVID-19, the London Knights have been doing their part to help by offering some masks of their own.

The organization teamed up with the OVer Company last month for the creation of double-layer, breathable masks branded with the Knights’ logo. The two organizations already had a pre-existing partnership for Knights-branded baby items, so when the OVer Company started selling masks too, Knights manager of merchandise Sarah Leaitch thought it was a great opportunity to join forces again.

“We saw that they were selling masks and thought it would be the perfect addition to our partnership,” Leaitch said. “A lot of our fans were reaching out about other teams selling branded masks.”

The organization saw a huge positive response upon their initial release with a consistent flow of orders coming in. Many have since placed second orders for their friends and family members.

The London Knights have been active in the fight against COVID-19, having recently reached $27,500 in donations to the St. Joseph’s Health Care COVID-19 Relief Fund together with the London Knights Alumni Foundation and proceeds from the club’s ongoing 50/50 efforts.

A strong desire to continue those efforts to help to combat the virus is, above all, what spearheaded the idea to sell the masks.

“We thought that together with the OVer Company, we could provide an item that would help everyone do their part and stay safe,” said Leaitch.

The masks are machine washable, reusable and are available for pre-order at $9.99.
