Milestone Moments: November 17, 2019

North Bay Battalion rookie Josh Currie picked up his first OHL goal Sunday afternoon in a 5-4 victory over the Barrie Colts. Currie redirected a shot past Barrie goaltender Jet Greaves to put the Battalion up 4-1 midway through the second period. Currie now has three points in 18 games with the Battalion. The Pickering, Ont. native was North Bay’s sixth round pick in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. Currie spent time with the OJHL’s Pickering Panthers and GTHL’s Toronto Nationals Midget AAA squad during the 2018-2019 season.

London Knights rookie Kirill Steklov scored his first OHL goal on Sunday in the remaining minute of what would be a 5-3 victory over the Kitchener Rangers. The six-foot-four defenceman from Tallinn, Estonia was drafted 56th overall by the Knights in the 2019 CHL Import Draft and now has three points through his first 18 OHL games with London. The 6-foot-4 defender was assigned a ‘B’ rating by NHL Central Scouting on their November ‘Players to Watch’ List released last week.
