OHL Announces Findings of Investigation Concerning Flint Firebirds’ President of Hockey Operations Terry Christensen

Toronto, Ont. – Ontario Hockey League Commissioner David Branch today announced that Flint Firebirds’ President of Hockey Operations Terry Christensen has been expelled from the League for conduct that is prejudicial to the welfare of the League. This comes as a result of remarks he made that violated the OHL Harassment & Abuse / Diversity Policy. His conduct violated the League’s expectation of the appropriate conduct of a representative of an OHL Team and he has lost the privilege to participate in the League.
The investigation into Mr. Christensen began after an allegation was brought forward via the OHL player communications system.
From the OHL’s current Diversity policy:
The Ontario Hockey League cares about diversity within its environment. The OHL values all of its players, staff, and officials and is committed to providing a place where all players and personnel are treated with respect. Not only does this mean that the League strives for an environment that is free from unequal treatment on the basis of race, age, gender, creed, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status or disability – it also means that we strive for an environment where we value and benefit from the distinctiveness of each other.
