OHL ‘On the Run’ Player of the Week: Brady Hinz

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that forward Brady Hinz of the Sarnia Sting is the OHL ‘On the Run’ Player of the Week for the week ending October 15 with nine points in four games including six goals and three assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-6.

Hinz led the league in scoring last week as the Sting climbed atop the OHL standings winning all four of their games to extend their win-streak to eight and improve their overall record to 9-1-0-0.  He scored in all four contests and recorded a trio of multi-point performances including Thanksgiving Monday with a goal and an assist in the Sting’s 6-5 overtime win against the Hamilton Bulldogs.  Hinz then powered Sarnia’s offense to three straight weekend wins beginning Friday with two goals and an assist as second star of an 8-1 victory over the Mississauga Steelheads, Saturday with one goal as part of a 6-1 defeat of the Guelph Storm, and Sunday with two goals and an assist as first star of a 3-2 road triumph over the Windsor Spitfires.

A 17-year-old from Stratford, Ont., Hinz is playing in his second OHL season with the Sting who chose him in the third round of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.  The former Huron-Perth Laker has already surpassed his rookie goal output of five with nine tallies through 10 games.  He finished 2016-17 with 25 points in 61 games and currently has 12 points through 10 contests to open 2017-18 play.  The 5’8’’, 160lb winger is eligible for the 2018 NHL Draft.
