Pilon Twins, Dawson Baker Commit to Wolves

Sudbury Wolves

SUDBURY, ON – The Sudbury Wolves announced Sunday that Darian and Drake Pilon, as well as 2016 fourth round selection Dawson Baker have each made commitments to the Wolves organization by signing Standard Player Agreements.

“We are extremely excited to announce the signings of Darian and Drake,” noted Sudbury Wolves General Manager Barclay Branch. “They are high character players that possess a unique blend of skill, grit, and determination and their hard working approach will be a welcome addition to our line-up.”

The Sault Ste. Marie natives were picked up by the Wolves on waivers last summer, but returned to the Soo Thunderbirds for the 2015-16 season, where both Darian and Drake had stand-out seasons for the Thunderbirds and helped contribute to their NOJHL championship and a spot at the Dudley Hewitt Cup.

“It’s incredible to be able to play hockey for such an amazing organization with such a rich past of great hockey players,” said Darian. “Accomplishing this together makes it that much better. We have a strong relationship, a very competitive relationship. We are extremely happy that all of our hard work is paying off and look forward to the challenges ahead,” added Drake.

The Wolves additionally announced the signing of Dawson Baker, who recorded 17 goals, 20 assists and 37 points in 34 games with the Quinte Red Devils Minor Midgets last season.

“We are very excited to announce the signing of Dawson,” noted Sudbury Wolves General Manager Barclay Branch. “He is a special young player whose defining characteristics are his skill, work ethic, and character, and we are thrilled that he will be providing these elements to our hockey club for years to come.”

“I am very proud to be committed to the Sudbury Wolves Organization,” said Baker. “I am looking forward to playing with the Wolves and being a part of a new era.”
