Jax Dubois netted the shootout winner as the Peterborough Petes edged the Sarnia Sting 4-3 for their first pre-season win.
– First round 2021 OHL Priority Selection pick Nick Lardis opened the scoring for Peterborough 8:40 in with his first goal of the pre-season.
– Rookie Ben Lalkin scored the tying goal 4:15 into the final frame and led the Sting with four shots on net.
– Latvian forward Kaspars Ziemins and defenceman Samuel Mayer notched their first goals with the Petes.
– Sarnia defenders Ashton Reesor and Nolan Dillingham also got on the scoresheet.
Keegan Jackson made 34 saves on 37 shots in his pre-season debut with the Sting opposite Peterborough’s Michael Simpson who solved 29 of 32 shots.
