Rangers Make $6694 Donation to K-W Poppy Fund

Kitchener, ON – A long-standing tradition of the Kitchener Rangers has been supporting local groups and charities. A portion of the proceeds from the Remembrance Day Jersey Auction has resulted in an annual donation to the K-W Poppy Fund. Rangers Reach, in continuing that tradition, presented a donation to the K-W Poppy Fund of $6694.74 to benefit Veterans.

The 2019 auction marked the 15th year of the program. Since its inception, the auction has raised over $160,000 for the local Poppy Fund.

Craig Campbell, Executive Director of Rangers Reach recently joined Remembrance Day committee members Tony Lea and John Prno at the Waterloo Legion. Together they presented a cheque to Stan Howie, the Chair of the K-W Poppy Fund.

Funds raised are used by the Poppy Fund to provide grants for food, heating costs, and clothing and prescription medication. In addition, it will help with emergency shelter or assistance for Veterans and their families in need. Similarly, it also helps support housing accommodation and care facilities for Veterans.
