Red Wings prospect Albin Grewe commits to Spirit

Saginaw, MI – Saginaw Spirit General Manager Dave Drinkill announced today the signing of Albin Grewe to a standard player agreement. Grewe was Saginaw’s second round pick, 112th overall, in last week’s CHL Import Draft.
“I am so happy and excited to be a part of the Saginaw Spirit. I can’t wait to join the team and get started” said Grewe when asked about signing with the Spirit today. Grewe is a native of Marsta, Sweden, and spent last season in Djurgardens between their SuperElit and SHL teams recording a combined 7 goals, 13 assists and 117pims in 42 games played. Grewe was the Detroit Red Wings third round pick (66th overall) in the 2019 NHL draft.
“To be able to drop a player of Grewe’s ability into our lineup for next season is exciting for our organization. Albin is a skilled, ultra-competitive player, that will help push the pace for our group each and every day. He is a player you want to have on your team but definitely do not want to play against. We believe that from the first puck drop this season he will make an impact on our team, and our league, on and off the ice. Not only does he play extremely hard and competitive but he has the skill set and mindset to play our style of play. We look forward to seeing what he can do in Saginaw with a strong cast of forwards with him this year,” said GM Drinkill
Grewe will wear number 46 for the Spirit next season.
