Spitfires’ Angle added to Team OHL for CIBC Canada Russia Series

Toronto, Ont. – The Ontario Hockey League announced today that Windsor Spitfires forward Tyler Angle has been added to Team OHL’s roster for the 2019 CIBC Canada Russia Series.

Angle replaces injured Barrie Colts forward Ryan Suzuki on the roster and will compete in Game 4 of the series on Monday November 11 in London.

Angle leads the Spitfires in scoring with 20 points (10-10–20) over 14 games this season. The 19-year-old has helped the Spits crack the Kia CHL Top-10 Rankings, falling in at eighth this week in the midst of a six-game winning streak. Angle was a seventh round (212th overall) pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets in this past summer’s NHL Draft.

A fourth-year veteran from Thorold, Ont., Angle is one of a handful of holdovers from the Spitfires’ 2017 Memorial Cup championship team. The 5-foot-10, 172Ib. centre has amassed 85 points (42-43–85) over 180 career regular season games, tacking on four goals over 10 postseason contests. Angle was Windsor’s sixth round (114th overall) pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection from the Southern Tier Admirals Minor Midgets. He enters the coming weekend on a six-game point streak.
