Spitfires’ Brown to represent United States at World Under-18 Championship

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Draft eligible Windsor Spitfires centreman Logan Brown is among the 22 players named to the U.S. Men’s National Under-18 Team roster that will compete at the 2016 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Men’s World Championship from April 14-24, in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Brown represents the United States after a 74-point sophomore OHL campaign that included 21 goals and 53 assists in 59 games to go with a plus/minus rating of plus-24.

A 6’6″, 218Ib. centreman from Chesterfield, MO, Brown was the 14th ranked North American skater in NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Draft Rankings released in mid-January. He represented Team Cherry at the 2016 BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Vancouver, BC.

Brown finished second in Spitfires team scoring this past season before recording six assists in five playoff contests.

He has collected 38 goals, 79 assists and 117 points in 115 career OHL regular season games.

The United States is featured in Group A along with Latvia, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland and will play its round-robin portion of the schedule at Ralph Engelstad Arena. Group B consists of Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland and Slovakia.

The U.S. seeks its third-straight gold medal in the event after capturing the tournament title last year in Zug and Lucerne, Switzerland.
