Sting’s Hjorth invited to Sweden’s World Junior Development Camp


The Swedish Hockey Federation announced this past week details surrounding its World Junior Summer Development Camp set for August 24-29 in Uppsala.

Among the 22 invitees includes Sarnia Sting defenceman Eric Hjorth, a fourth round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Hjorth, 19, recorded 29 points (12-17–29) over 60 games in his first OHL season in 2019-20. The 6-foot-3, 192Ib. right-shot defenceman was chosen by the Sting with the 17th overall pick of the 2019 CHL Import Draft.

Sweden captured bronze in Ostrava, Czech Republic this past January and last won gold in 2012.
