Sunday Highlights: Barber Poles bounce back in home opener

 

OTTAWA 3, KINGSTON 2
– The Barber Poles bounced back from Friday’s 8-1 beatdown in Kingston with a 3-2 home opener victory.
– Calgary Flames prospect Jack Beck scored the game winner at the final frame’s 4:40 mark.
– Ottawa’s Brady Stonehouse and Kingston’s Martin Chromiak recorded two assists each.
Vsevolod Gaidamak opened the scoring with his first OHL goal 1:12 into the first period. Brenden Sirizzotti scored Ottawa’s second goal.
– Frontenacs goals came from Shane Wright and Lucas Edmonds.
– Kingston netminder and Ottawa Senators prospect Leevi Meriläinen finished with 27 saves on 30 shots opposite St. Louis Blues prospect Will Cranley, who earned the win with 23 saves on 25 shots.
