1ST STAR: COLE PERFETTI (SAGINAW SPIRIT) – 5A
Cole Perfetti recorded five primary assists for his second five-point night of the season to help push the Saginaw Spirit past the Soo Greyhounds 7-5. The top NHL Draft prospect connected with teammates Ryan Suzuki, Cole Coskey, Bode Wilde, and DJ Busdeker for his team’s first five goals of the game. The 18-year-old now holds 92 points (30-62–92) through 51 games in his sophomore year with the Spirit, placing him second among the OHL’s top scorers. The Whitby, Ont. native, who was selected fifth overall by the Spirit in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection, is expected to be a high pick at the upcoming NHL Draft in Montreal this summer.
2ND STAR: KALEB PEARSON (OWEN SOUND ATTACK) – 2G, 2A
Kaleb Pearson continued to impress with a four-point performance as the Owen Sound Attack flew past the visiting Hamilton Bulldogs 5-1. The sophomore skater scored midway through the first period and again in the opening minutes of the final frame, and had a piece on goals from teammates Sergey Popov and Carter Robertson. The 19-year-old product of St. Marys now has seven goals through his last three games and holds 42 points (24-18—42) in 51 games this year. Pearson was drafted by the Flint Firebirds 29th overall in the 2017 OHL Under-18 Priority Selection.
3RD STAR: BRETT NEUMANN (OSHAWA GENERALS) – 1G, 2A
Brett Neumann‘s 37th goal of the season with just 39 seconds left in the third period stood as the game winner as the Oshawa Generals edged visiting Kingston 5-4. Neumann finished the night with a goal and two assists and went 13-for-14 in the faceoff circle. The Toronto native turns 21 in just two days and has 72 points (37-35–72) over 51 games this season, leading the league in shots on goal with 241. The fifth-year veteran has played in 307 career contests, the most of any active OHL player. He was originally Erie’s third round pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection and has also spent time with the Kingston Frontenacs.
