Kingston Frontenacs overage netminder Christian Propp turned aside 45 shots, helping his heavily outshot club claim victory over the Peterborough Petes on Wednesday. The Fronts were outdone 48-28 on the shot clock but that didn’t come in the way of two points as Propp came up big throughout the night. The 20-year-old product of Milton, Ont. owns a 4.53 goals-against average and .869 save percentage through 32 games between Kingston and Sault Ste. Marie this season. The fourth-year veteran has played in 152 career OHL contests and holds an overall record of 61-71-7-4, spending time between Barrie, North Bay, Kingston and Sault Ste. Marie.
2ND STAR: REID VALADE (KITCHENER RANGERS) – 1G, 1A
Draft eligible forward Reid Valade scored the late game winner, helping the Rangers score a 5-4 comeback win in Sault Ste. Marie. Valade finished the night with a goal and an assist as he finished-off a feed from Mike Petizian with 6:53 remaining in the third period. The 17-year-old from Caledon, Ont. has 33 points (17-16–33) through 44 games this season. He was Kitchener’s first round pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection from the Toronto Marlboros Minor Midgets.
3RD STAR: MAXIM GOLOD (ERIE OTTERS) – 3A
Erie Otters forward Max Golod set up three of his team’s four goals in a 4-3 road win over the Guelph Storm. The 19-year-old from Concord, Ont. leads the Otters with 64 points (19-45–64) through 48 games in this, his third OHL season. The former 13th round pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection hasn’t been held pointless in consecutive games this season. He attended training camp with the Philadelphia Flyers in September.
