1ST STAR: JORDAN SAMBROOK (SAULT STE. MARIE GREYHOUNDS):
Overage defenceman Jordan Sambrook scored twice to lead the Soo Greyhounds to a 5-2 road win in Owen Sound. Appearing in his 63rd career OHL playoff contest, the former league champion netted a pair of power play markers to help the Hounds get the jump on the Attack, taking a 3-1 series lead headed back to Sault Ste. Marie on Friday. The 20-year-old Sambrook was a fifth round pick of the Detroit Red Wings in 2016 before going unsigned. The fourth-year veteran recorded 49 points (17-32–49) over 67 games from the blue line this past season.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

2ND STAR: MORGAN FROST (SAULT STE. MARIE GREYHOUNDS):
Philadelphia Flyers prospect Morgan Frost scored twice and added an assist as the Soo Greyhounds defeated the Owen Sound Attack 5-2 to take a 3-1 series lead. Frost posted his third multi-point output of the series to give himself a total of eight points (3-5–8). The 19-year-old centreman registered six shots on goal in the win as the Hounds scored five times on 25 shots. After posting 109 points (37-72–109) this past season, Frost has continued his production into the playoffs. He’s produced 48 points (16-32–48) over 51 career playoff contests.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

3RD STAR: UKKO-PEKKA LUUKKONEN (SUDBURY WOLVES):
Buffalo Sabres prospect Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 32 of 33, backstopping the Sudbury Wolves into the second round with a 4-1 road win over the Mississauga Steelheads. The 6-foot-5 Finnish talent went 4-0 with a 1.95 goals-against average and .946 save percentage in the first round sweep of Mississauga as the Wolves advanced for the first time since 2013. Luukkonen posted a franchise record 2.50 goals-against average and six shutouts over 53 games this past season. He also won gold with Finland at the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. Luukkonen was Buffalo’s second round (54th overall) pick in 2017.
