1ST STAR: SEAN JOSLING (SARNIA STING) – 3G, 2A
Overage winger Sean Josling scored his first OHL hat-trick paired with a career-high five points as the Sarnia Sting stunned the undefeated Oshawa Generals in a 9-5 road win. Josling scored in the first, second and third periods as the Sting won their second straight contest after starting the season 0-7. The 20-year-old from Toronto, Ont. has 17 points (7-10–17) through nine games this season including 11 on his current four-game point streak. Josling attending rookie camp with the Chicago Blackhawks last month.
2ND STAR: CAM HILLIS (GUELPH STORM) – 3G, 2A
Montreal Canadiens prospect Cam Hillis scored his first career OHL hat-trick as part of a career-high five point performance as the Guelph Storm outlasted visiting Erie 7-5. Hillis scored once in each period, hitting the empty net with 13 seconds to go to seal the deal on a Storm victory before an enthusiastic crowd at the Sleeman Centre. Hillis comes off an injury-shortened 2018-19 campaign and has eight points (4-4–8) in as many games this season. The 19-year-old Enniskillen, Ont. native was Montreal’s third round pick in 2018.
3RD STAR: KOSTA MANIKIS (SUDBURY WOLVES) – 1G, 2A
After being held off the scoresheet for five games, first-year winger Kosta Manikis registered the first three points of his OHL career on Friday, netting his first career OHL goal as the Sudbury Wolves defeated visiting Barrie 4-2. Manikis’ first was the game winner as the 18-year-old from Richmond Hill, Ont. played on a line alongside Quinton Byfield and David Levin. Originally Sudbury’s fifth round pick in 2017, Manikis helped the Wolves improve to 7-4-0-0 on Friday with a breakout performance.
