1ST STAR: NOEL HOEFENMAYER (OTTAWA 67’s) – 3G, OT WINNER
Overage defenceman Noel Hoefenmayer completed his first career OHL hat-trick 2:45 into overtime as the Ottawa 67’s defeated visiting Hamilton 5-4. Hoefenmayer teamed up with Marco Rossi for the winner as the draft eligible forward notched his fifth assist on the afternoon. Hoefenmayer’s three-goal performance gives him 14 points (5-9–14) through 11 games this season, placing him fourth among OHL blueliners. The 20-year-old from North York, Ont. is in the midst of his fifth OHL season and was a fourth round pick of the Arizona Coyotes back in 2017 before going unsigned. Hoefenmayer attended rookie camp with the Carolina Hurricanes in September.
2ND STAR: MARCO ROSSI (OTTAWA 67’s) – 5A
Draft eligible forward Marco Rossi was a setup machine on Sunday, recording five assists as the Ottawa 67’s defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 5-4 in overtime. Four of Rossi’s five assists were primary as the 18-year-old from Feldkirch, Austria notched a new single game career-high in points, extending his run to six straight games. Rossi, who was assigned an ‘A’ rating on NHL Central Scouting’s ‘Players to Watch’ List earlier this month, has 15 points (4-11–15) on the campaign.
3RD STAR: RYAN O’ROURKE (SOO GREYHOUNDS) – 2G, 1A
Draft eligible blueliner Ryan O’Rourke had a career-high three points in Sunday’s 11-2 blowout win over North Bay. The 17-year-old from Pickering, Ont. scored twice and added an assist as the Hounds snapped out of a four-game slide. O’Rourke has 10 points (5-5–10) through 12 games this season along with a team-leading plus-12 rating. He was recently named to Team OHL’s roster for the 2019 CIBC Canada Russia Series.
