Tuesday Highlights: Hinz’s pair push Petes past Frontenacs


Brady Hinz (5, 6) tied things up with 3:03 left in the second period before netting the game winner 1:35 into the third, helping the Peterborough Petes defeat the visiting Kingston Frontenacs 5-3. The Petes carried the play, outshooting Kingston 46-26 as overage netminder Brendan Bonello kept the Fronts in the game until the Petes pulled away in the third period. Max Grondin (4) earned first star honours with a goal and two assists while John Parker-Jones (2) and Keegan McMullen (2) also scored for the maroon and white. Jake Murray (1), Zayde Wisdom (8) and Nick Wong (6) added Kingston goals while Dustin Hutton notched an assist against his former club. Peterborough’s Hunter Jones made 23 saves for the win before a Tuesday night crowd of 2,706 at the PMC. Arizona Coyotes prospect Liam Kirk chipped in with two assists as the Petes improved to 12-5-0-0. Kingston drops a ninth straight contest, falling to 1-12-2-1.
