Tuesday Highlights: Storm surge to ninth straight win

GUELPH 5, KITCHENER 1
The OHL’s Tuesday night action saw the Guelph Storm’s impressive win streak hit game number nine as they defeated the Kitchener Rangers 5-1 on the road. Storm scoring leader Pavel Gogolev (13), who collected three points (1-2-3) on the night, fed Cam Hillis (8) to put Guelph on the board within the first twenty, but Riley Damiani (9) tied things up for the Rangers off a beautiful behind-the-back pass from Jonathan Yantsis. The Storm came out strong with four unanswered goals, including a shorty from Cedric Ralph (12) to cap off a six-game goal streak for the overage winger. Nico Daws stood tall with 30 saves, including a couple grade-A chances from Mike Petizian and Jonathan Yantsis. Kitchener falls to 7-8-2-2 on the season while the Storm surge to the top of the Midwest Division at 12-4-1-2. This is the longest win streak the Storm has seen since the 2013-14 season.
