Zach Filak commits to Sting

Sarnia Sting

SARNIA, ON: Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca announced today that the Hockey Club has signed Northville, Mich. native Zach Filak to an Ontario Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.

Filak (pr: fee-lack), selected in the ninth round by the Sting in April’s Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, played this past season as part of the Detroit Compuware U16 program. The 2004 born forward competed with 2003 born players and recorded 10 points in 14 statistically recorded games.

“This is an exciting day for Zach and the Filak family, we appreciate his decision to join the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club. He is a player our scouting staff followed very closely this winter. Zach has the skill, character and a work ethic that makes him a player Sting fans will love to come watch and play. We look forward to Zach getting started and watching him develop in Sarnia,” comments Sting GM Dylan Seca on today’s announcement.

Filak comments on his commitment: “It’s a tremendous honour to sign with the Sarnia Sting. I cannot wait to get to the rink and get to work with my new teammates. I want to thank Mr. Legwand, Mr. Hatcher, the entire Sting Organization, and my family in making this dream come true for me.”
