Habs top pick McCarron Commits to Knights

London Knights General Manager Mark Hunter announced today that winger Michael McCarron has committed to and entered into an Ontario Hockey League Standard Player’s Agreement with the London Knights. McCarron, a Grosse Pointe, MI native, was drafted 25th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He spent the last two seasons with the US National Development Program. The 6.05 228lb right winger also won a silver medal with Team USA at the 2013 IIHF U18 World Championship held last April in Sochi, Russia. McCarron took part in his first Canadiens’ development camp last week and signed a 3-year entry level contract with the Canadiens on July 11, 2013. McCarron will follow in the footsteps of fellow American, Montreal Canadiens’ prospect and Knights former Captain Jarred Tinordi and wear #24 for London this season. He will join the Knights when training camp opens up in late August.
