Top 2018 NHL Draft prospect Andrei Svechnikov (4, 5, 6) has his first OHL hat-trick, providing all three goals in a 3-1 home ice win against the North Bay Battalion. Svechnikov scored twice in the first before hitting an empty net shorthanded to complete the trifecta as the Colts improved to 4-1-0-1. Overage goaltender Leo Lazarev dazzled with 34 saves as the Colts won despite being outshot 35-26 while holding North Bay to an 0-for-9 night on the power play. Veteran counterman Brett McKenzie returned to the North Bay lineup in the loss as Brady Lyle (2) provided the lone Battalion goal on a goalmouth scramble. The Troops now sit at 3-1-1-0 on the season.
