Erie Otters defenceman Aidan Timmermans recently announced a total of $12,000 raised from his t-shirt fundraiser collaboration with Iron Empire Clothing, a number that was matched by Erie Otters Owner and Governor Jim Waters to make a final donation of $24,000 to The Broncos Family Assistance Fund that benefits those affected by the tragic event involving the Humboldt Broncos hockey team this past April.

A total of 815 shirts were sold throughout the United States and Canada, including orders delivered to hall of fame motorsports driver Mario Andretti and Country Music Hall of Fame artist Garth Brooks.

The Broncos Family Assistance Fund was created through partnerships between the Canadian Hockey League, Hockey Canada, and the Saskatchewan Hockey Association to provide support for the families of the 29 people on the Humboldt Broncos team bus that was involved in the tragic accident on April 6, 2018.
