The Windsor Spitfires and Saginaw Spirit combined for seven first period goals, both teams made goaltending changes, and the host Spits prevailed in a 7-5 decision. Saginaw led 4-3 after 20 minutes before the Spitfires came out and scored four consecutive goals to take a 7-4 lead. Rookie forward Jean-Luc Foudy (1) was the star of the show, scoring his first career goal while adding three assists. Jordan Frasca (1), Grayson Ladd (1), Connor Corcoran (1), Luke Boka (1), Nathan Staios (1) and Tyler Angle (2) joined Foudy on the scoresheet while rookie netminder Kari Piiroinen earned the win in relief of Michael DiPietro. On the Saginaw side of things Albert Michnac (3), Nicholas Porco (2), Jake Goldowski (1), Cole Coskey (1) and Blade Jenkins (1) were goal-scorers while rookie goaltender Tristan Lennox made his OHL debut in relief of Cameron Lamour. The Spitfires improve to 2-1 with the win.
