The Barrie Colts continued their early-season dominance at home, putting up a 10-spot against the Central Division rival Sudbury Wolves. Overage forward Lucas Chiodo (2, 3, 4) led the way with three goals and two assists, netting his first OHL hat-trick. Sophomore sensation Ryan Suzuki (2) equalled that output with a goal and four helpers. In addition to scoring a highlight reel goal, Buffalo Sabres prospect Matej Pekar (3) added two assists. Ben Hawerchuk (2, 3) scored twice while Joey Keane rounded out Barrie’s top performers with three assists. David Levin (1) opened the scoring for Sudbury 5:54 into action and they wouldn’t score again until 16:29 of the third period. Despite the lopsided score, Sudbury outshot Barrie 36-27 as Kai Edmonds got the win with a 33-save performance. Barrie improves to 2-1-0-0 while Sudbury is 1-2-0-0.
