The Saginaw Spirit made a valiant comeback, but the Guelph Storm got the last laugh. Cedric Ralph (1, 2, 3) completed his first OHL hat-trick with 1:25 left in overtime as the Storm skated to a 6-5 road win. Up 5-0, Guelph saw their big lead evaporate as the Spirit scored five consecutive goals capped by Brady Gilmour’s (1, 2) tying marker with eight seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Ralph came through in the end with an assist from Liam Hawel as the Storm snuck out the extra point, improving to 2-1-1-0. Isaac Ratcliffe (3), Alexey Toropchenko (2) and Mason Primeau (1) joined Ralph on the scoresheet while Hawel had three assists and Nate Schnarr pitched in with two. The Spirit had a pair of goals from both Gilmour and Cole Coskey (2, 3) while Nicholas Porco (3) also tallied. Bode Wilde and Blade Jenkins each collected two assists. The Spirit pick up a point and sit at 1-2-1-0 on the young season.
